Deep Sea Fishing Half Moon Bay

Day 2: Deep Sea Fishing in Half Moon Bay

When in the Princeton area just north of Half Moon Bay, make sure you take a moment to check out a deep sea fishing excursion for the family, associates, or friends. One of the most popular ones and the one that our family has been using for over 20 years is Huck Finn Sports Fishing. Located at 15 Johnson Pier at Pillar Point Harbor. Per person to charter the boat it will run you around 50$-70$, and a one day permit 10$-15$, but make sure you call and check for pricing. The boat that we have used prior is the Tiger Fish. The staff of the boat is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable that can make you experience that much better. Make sure you dress warm due to the coasts notoriously foggy and cold mornings! Most boats leave early mornings around seven and you will be fishing in about 30-45 minutes. We trolled south to follow the fish radar and very quickly the deckhands were working hard once we dropped our lines yelling “Fish On” from all sides of the boat running around helping people pull up their fish. Deep sea fishing is a great experience for all ages and a memory that will last a lifetime. After we all caught our limit (10 rock cod, 2 link cod), we headed back into the harbor, and what a beautiful sight it is. The coastline and sand bars shine against the crashing waves that are set against green mountains. This only enhances the great day with great people in a great town. After you get back you have the option of filleting your own catch, or having the deckhand do it for you. Deep Sea Fishing is a great thing to do in Half Moon Bay for tourists and locals alike, so pack a lunch and bring your sea legs for an adventure!

Tip1- Take preventatives if you are prone to seasickness such as Dramamine.
Tip2- Pack you own lunch.
Tip3- Bring a camera for great pictures
Tip4- Dress warm
Tip5- every person put 20 dollars in a pool and biggest fish for the day wins the money!

Day 1: Golf Half Moon Bay

Half Moon Bay Golf Links features 36 holes of grand golf. The complex offers two beautifully designed courses set against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, which consist of The Old Course and The Ocean Course. These two courses are very different in style; however they both share a common beauty that will take anyone’s breath away.
The Old Course is an 18 hole championship course that brings you through and around the private community of Ocean Colony that features small ponds, large pines, and the Pacific bluffs. The Old Course dramatically caps off with the 17th and 18th holes. The 17th hole is a short par 3, where the Pacific Ocean comes into full panoramic view on the horizon. The view only sets up what is to come- the 18th hole. This hole is world famous and is a great way to finish a round in Half Moon Bay. The backdrop is the elegantly architectural designed Ritz Carlton that sits right above the bluffs of the Pacific. To the right of the 18th, powerful waves crash with furious power creating a salty mist that you can feel, and creates an art in motion that you will remember. These finishing holes will only add to the beauty and experience that the Old Course has to offer.
The Ocean Course is entirely different in style than the American designed Old Course, but shares beauty and elegance in the same. The Ocean Course has a link’s layout with a true Scottish design and feeling. The Course will give players a view of the Pacific Ocean and the bluffs from every hole on the course. It is the 16th, 17th, and 18th holes on the Oceans lineup against the red colored bluffs to your left, which makes these holes instant classics. The Ocean Course is a getaway from a getaway in itself.
The Golf Course at Half Moon Bay is a fun activity for the day, and will not disappoint visitors or locals alike. All holes on the golf course are well maintained, and the greens play fairly fast at different points of the year. The staff makes sure things move along, so a round under 4 ½ hours should not be a problem. The course will always bring superior customer service, high ranked golf holes, and some of the most breath taking views in the world.
