Dave & Geoff are commercial crab fisherman with generations of experience behind them. They used their crab fishing success to create sport sized crab pots that fish like the professionals. After 4 previous seasons of completely selling out our inventory, our pots are known as a quality product, unmatched by anything else on the market.
We have worked extensively with Coastside Fishing Club to develop these pots. Each pot is built from the ground up, welded, rubber wrapped, hand knitted and specially grounded to fish just like the professional pots that we use to make our living. The "Riptide" is owned and operated by Capt. William Smith. "Capt. Smitty" has worked on party boats in the Bay Area for over twenty five years, has been a licensed captain for twenty years, and has been involved in Half Moon Bay fishing for the past ninteen years. Much of his time in Half Moon Bay has been with Capt. John’s "Blue Horizon," as well as other boats, including the three "cat boats" – the Huli Cat, Top Cat, and Pogie Cat.
