Bettencourt Sport Crab Pots

Princeton-by-the-Sea, CA 94019
(650) 726-5471
http://www.bettencourtsportcrabpots.com/
Dave & Geoff are commercial crab fisherman with generations of experience behind them. They used their crab fishing success to create sport sized crab pots that fish like the professionals. After 4 previous seasons of completely selling out our inventory, our pots are known as a quality product, unmatched by anything else on the market.
We have worked extensively with Coastside Fishing Club to develop these pots. Each pot is built from the ground up, welded, rubber wrapped, hand knitted and specially grounded to fish just like the professional pots that we use to make our living. Our pots are tried and true, our repeat business alone buys the majority of our inventory every year. Our crab pots are the only pots on the market to earn the Bob Franko stamp of approval.

Half Moon Bay Surfing Mavericks!
Half Moon Bay
Half Moon Bay is the place which is
situated 23 miles southwest of the San Francisco International Airport, The
Ritz-Carlton and Half Moon Bay provides a magnificent backdrop for the perfect
Northern California coast vacation. Whether you can surf better from other
places. Various kinds of facilities and I think it’s a perfect and attractive
place to the worlds surfer. At the north edge of the bay is the big wave surf area, Mavericks, off Pillar Point, where surfers
challenge waves over 50 feet (15m). Mavericks is a winter destination for some
of the world's best big wave surfers. Mavericks is a best surfing location in Northern California in USA. It is located approximately
2 miles (3.2 km) from shore in Pillar Point Harbor just north of Half Moon Bay at the village of Princeton-By-The-Sea. After a strong winter storm in the
northern Pacific Ocean, waves can routinely crest at over 25 feet (8m) and top
out at over 50 feet (15m). On the other hand can occur the big hazards like a
big wave wipeout, a breaking wave can push surfers down 20 to 50 feet (6.2 m to
15.5 m) below the surface. In every season various surfing competition are held
here in the Half Moon Bay coast when the big waves come in winter, and late
every year, an official waiting period for the Mavericks Surf Contest begins.
Here some conditions are right, but this contest has an interesting twist. No
one knows when it will be held until just 24 hours before it starts. get a
telephone call telling them when the Mavericks Surf Contest will begin. They
have 24 hours to get there. That's all the time you'll have to prepare. Many
worlds famous surfer are surfing in Half Moon Bay from long since like Laird Hamilton, Eddie Aikau, Ken Bradshaw , and Jeff Clark.

Deep Sea Fishing Half Moon Bay
Day 2: Deep Sea Fishing in Half Moon Bay
When in the Princeton area just north of Half Moon Bay, make sure you take a moment to check out a deep sea fishing excursion for the family, associates, or friends. One of the most popular ones and the one that our family has been using for over 20 years is Huck Finn Sports Fishing. Located at 15 Johnson Pier at Pillar Point Harbor. Per person to charter the boat it will run you around 50$-70$, and a one day permit 10$-15$, but make sure you call and check for pricing. The boat that we have used prior is the Tiger Fish. The staff of the boat is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable that can make you experience that much better. Make sure you dress warm due to the coasts notoriously foggy and cold mornings! Most boats leave early mornings around seven and you will be fishing in about 30-45 minutes. We trolled south to follow the fish radar and very quickly the deckhands were working hard once we dropped our lines yelling “Fish On” from all sides of the boat running around helping people pull up their fish. Deep sea fishing is a great experience for all ages and a memory that will last a lifetime. After we all caught our limit (10 rock cod, 2 link cod), we headed back into the harbor, and what a beautiful sight it is. The coastline and sand bars shine against the crashing waves that are set against green mountains. This only enhances the great day with great people in a great town. After you get back you have the option of filleting your own catch, or having the deckhand do it for you. Deep Sea Fishing is a great thing to do in Half Moon Bay for tourists and locals alike, so pack a lunch and bring your sea legs for an adventure!
Tip1- Take preventatives if you are prone to seasickness such as Dramamine.
Tip2- Pack you own lunch.
Tip3- Bring a camera for great pictures
Tip4- Dress warm
Tip5- every person put 20 dollars in a pool and biggest fish for the day wins the money!
