The Mavericks Surf Contest will be part of the 2012 Big Wave World Tour, the only U.S. stop on a circuit that will also include Chile, Peru, and Mexico.
Mavericks was part of the Big Wave World Tour in 2010.
ESPN reports that anticipation is mounting amongst Mavericks organizers, anxious to put on an awesome display after the 2011 competition was scrapped due to a lack of waves.
This year's window for Mavericks, which invites just 24 of trhe world's top surfers to compete, will run Nov. 1, 2012 - March 31, 2013
