Imagine the Bay Area's best mobile food trucks parked together serving their bounties next to the ocean. The Grub Town Army has three simple directives:
1. Feed hungry crowds of people with the best mobile food trucks from the Bay Area.
2. Invite you to the local delights including beach access, specialty shops, coastal walking/biking paths, ocean fishing, or even the world famous Mavericks surf spot.
3. Celebrate the birth of our nation with the entire family, enjoy live music, face painting, potato sack races, and entertainment for the kids. Stay for one of the best fireworks shows in the Bay Area on July 4th at sunset by the American Legion of HMB. Bring chairs and blankets.
Visitors to Half Moon Bay will have a head start on Independence Day this year by kicking off the festivities with a celebration taking place on Sunday July 3rd and Monday July 4th from 11 am to sunset. The Fireworks will precede the event on July 4th over Surfers Beach for one of the best fireworks shows in the bay area!

There are many ways in which to enjoy our Club!
Adult and Youth Sailing Instruction – Whether you are a newcomer to sailing or an experienced sailor, you can benefit from the Club’s educational programs that include seminars in the Clubhouse, Club race days and hands-on training sessions on the water using the Club’s fleet of sailboats.
Recreational Sailing in the Harbor – With programs such as our Women’s Sailing group and Sailing Sundays, you can get checked out by our senior sailors and be certified to use the Club’s Cal20s, C15s, Lasers or other boats for a leisurely sail inside Pillar Point Harbor.
Social Events – We guarantee that you will meet interesting people and make wonderful new friends at the Club’s many guest chef dinners and barbecues, movie nights, arts symposia, and other social events. The Club facilties are also available to members for hire and is open Friday through Sunday of each week for relaxing and mingling.
Children and Pets – We actively welcome and encourage both! Our beach provides an excellent and safe playground for families to build sandcastles, chase balls, ride our ferry to the dock or just relax with a good book. We just ask that adequate supervision and water safety precautions are observed.
Sailing,while many HMBYC members own boats, it is not a prerequisite for joining the Club or enjoying sailing. The club owns a fleet of Cal20s, a seaworthy, safe and easily managed vessel that is available to members.
There is no additional cost beyond ordinary annual dues.
All one needs to do is learn the basics of sailing in adult sail training classes offered by the Club and get checked out by one of several senior Club sailors.

Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is a marine reserve in California on the Pacific Ocean, located just north of Pillar Point Harbor and Mavericks in the San Mateo County community of Moss Beach. Moss Beach is located approximately 20 miles (32 km) south of San Francisco and 50 miles (80 km) north of Santa Cruz. The reserve is a 32-acre (0.13 km2) holding which extends from Montara light station at the north to Pillar Point on the south. The reserve consists of a three mile stretch of beach, tidepool habitat, marsh, erosive bluffs, clifftop trail and cypress and eucalyptus forests. The property is owned by the State of California and managed by San Mateo County as a county park and nature preserve. The reserve is administratively assigned to be part of the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary. Adjacent to and possibly within the reserve is an endangered species of butterfly, the San Bruno elfin butterfly.
Montara State Marine Reserve & Pillar Point State Marine Conservation Area extend offshore from Montara, just north of Pillar Point. Like underwater parks, these marine protected areas help conserve ocean wildlife and marine ecosystems. Fitzgerald Marine Reserve lies within Montara State Marine Reserve.
