The Celebration of the Holy Spirit, to celebrate Pentecost, a religious celebration upon which a miracle took place in the Azore Islands of Portugal after a distastrous earthquake, is this weekend.
The Portuguese community in Half Moon Bay are almost all of Azorean origin and maintain this celebration in Half Moon Bay every year since 1871.

9 p.m. Portuguese Dance with music by Gilberto Amaral
10 p.m. Presentation of the Queens, their Courts and Officers
Sunday, May 27
10 a.m. Parade to Our Lady of the Pillar Church
11 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of the Pillar Church
11 a.m. Begin traditional free meal in the I.D.E.S. Hall
2 p.m. Auction at the I.D.E.S. grounds
Monday, May 28
12 p.m. Traditional free lunch in the I.D.E.S. Hall
